Collagen & Soft Fillers

Collagen Replacement Treatment and other Filler Materials

You wake up one morning and look in the mirror and suddenly, you notice facial lines that just weren't there yesterday.

Face it, lines and wrinkles happen.

Facial lines, creases, and wrinkles begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers break down and wear out. Fortunately, collagen skin treatments or other "fill materials" can "fill in" those little annoyances.

Since it was approved by the FDA in 1981, collagen replacement treatment has been among the most frequently performed cosmetic procedures in the United States. Collagen replacement treatment is not a permanent fix, but do last from 3 to 6 months. The results are immediate, and the recovery time is so short, you can sneak in a treatment at lunchtime.

However, collagen injections aren't for everyone. A small number of patients (fewer than 1%) can be allergic to collagen, so a simple skin test is necessary prior to treatment. Fortunately, for patients who cannot have collagen, other treatments have been developed that are similar and are equally effective. Whether you are treated with collagen, or with other soft tissue "fillers," these treatments are used to smooth out wrinkles and most scars, to improve deeper frown lines and the creases and furrows between the nose and the mouth. These treatments are safe, effective, time tested, non surgical, and provide immediate results.

Telling anyone...(or not)...is delightfully up to you. For further information...
