Silikon ™1000 A Permanent Filler Solution

A full complexion and smooth skin are desirable features for many, and while some may have these features naturally, others may need some assistance in achieving this look. Dermal fillers have long been used to add volume and diminish signs of aging and fine lines with results that may only last several months. These temporary solutions eventually lead you to undergo more sessions to maintain your appearance. These touchups can be costly and time-consuming. However, at Tampa Bay Cosmetic Surgery Center we may have a permanent solution to your needs with Silikon 1000.

What is Silikon 1000?

Originally developed as a retinal treatment, Silikon 1000 is a medical-grade pure form of injectable liquid silicone. Unlike conventional dermal fillers which degrade over time, the results from Silikon 1000 are permanent, meaning there is no need for maintenance touch-ups once your course of treatment is completed.

Silikon 1000 helps patients to restore lost volume, filling in wrinkles and fine lines while plumping and smoothing skin. The nature of this solution also stimulates the body’s production of collagen allowing for further skin rejuvenation.

Many doctors are wary of using Silikon 1000 off label as a filler. However, Dr. Kass is one of only a handful of physicians in the country, if not in the world, who has used this filler successfully for many, many years. He began using Silikon 1000 at least over a dozen years ago, training with the late Dr. Jay Barnett in NYC who used the material for at least forty years before his passing.

In Dr. Kass’ opinion, it is the experience and expertise of the injector which “makes or breaks” the results of this exciting alternative to conventional fillers.

It is an excellent option for treating all areas of the face including eyes, lips, and cheeks. There is no downtime associated with Silikon 1000 making it an incredibly appealing procedure for many.

How does Silikon 1000 work?

Due to the permanent nature of Silikon™1000, we exercise great caution throughout the process. To achieve natural-looking results, we use a method known as the microdroplet technique where we inject tiny amounts of the solution over several weeks.

By gradually making injections, we can ensure the outcome of your treatment and reach the desired appearance without overfilling or underfilling the area. Between treatment sessions, your skin will begin to produce collagen in and around the treated area which will also help you to achieve a more natural-looking appearance.

The number of sessions required will vary depending on the patient’s condition and goals. Prior to your treatment, we can apply a topical anesthetic to ensure patient comfort during the procedure.

Like the number of sessions, the price per session can also vary depending on how much Silikon 1000 you wish to use per session. Typically, patients choose to spend $800-$3000 per treatment session.

Are there any side effects?

Patients may feel some tenderness, bruising, redness, and swelling around the injection site following treatment. However, these symptoms should subside within a few days.

As with any cosmetic procedure, there can be some risk or side effects that may occur, these include the formation of pockets or lumps and movement of silicone from the injected site. These side effects are uncommon and generally the results of large amounts of silicone being injected in one period.

Results

Though most patients will see an immediate increase in fullness after treatment, even greater fill results will appear a few months after treatment as collagen builds around the injected material.

As mentioned above, once you reach your desired results, no further treatment appointments are required meaning no maintenance touch-ups as the results from Silikon 1000 are permanent!

Due to the permanent nature of Silikon 1000, we often recommend that our patients try short-term fillers first before Silikon 1000. However, for those who are ready for long-lasting permanent results and a more youthful appearance, contact Kass Center For Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery today to schedule a consultation and find out if Silikon 1000 is right for you.
