The Kass Center was pleased to welcome Dr. Jaime Wong MD to our practice on November 25, 2019. Dr. Wong is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), completed her medical training in Boston, and then did fellowships at McGill University in Montreal and Plastic Eye Surgery Associates in Houston, TX. Although they had not met before, after reviewing Dr. Kass’ website and seeing the incredible results that he has achieved for his patients, Dr. Wong traveled all the way from Montreal to Tampa Bay to learn Dr. Kass’ technique in treating Festoons (malar bags or malar mounds).
Traditionally, Festoons are difficult to treat and they can represent a significant cosmetic deformity and challenge as they are not improved with currently available blepharoplasty or facelift techniques. However, Dr. Kass has developed an answer for this difficult problem which has proved greatly successful in the vast majority of the patients he has treated. Treating the festoon with a unique resurfacing technique, Dr. Kass avoids the unacceptable scars associated with direct surgical excision, and also avoids the use of costly, less predictable laser procedures.
Patients travel to see Dr. Kass for Festoon Treatment from all over the country. And even from outside the US too. If you suffer from this problem, let us know if we can help you!
Fortunately and unselfishly, Dr. Kass is willing to teach his technique to others. Dr. Wong stated upon leaving that she now feels comfortable offering Dr. Kass’ technique to patients in Montreal and greater Quebec who suffer from this problem. We wish her well.
