How Does Sculptra work?

Sculptra Aesthetic works to gradually restore collagen that has been lost during the aging process. Collagen is a structural protein in the skin that provides elasticity to the skin, giving it suppleness. As skin ages, the amount of collagen it produces decreases and wrinkles begin to appear. The Sculptra injectable reverses this process by stimulating collagen production so that facial wrinkles, creases and folds* are reduced or eliminated, leaving a younger, more supple facial appearance.

Sculptra Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra Aeshetic trained physician. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.

As the Sculptra Aesthetic facial injectable works at a deep level within the skin, in the dermis layer, the restored collagen it creates provides extra structural support to the skin’s foundation. This has the effect of restoring a look of fullness to the face, as Sculptra fills the wrinkles and deeper folds of the skin. What makes Sculptra so unique is that it provides these beautifying results to the skin gradually, so that facial wrinkles disappear over time and are replaced with a fresher, younger-looking face. Patients can typically enjoy these long-lasting results for two or more years after treatment.**

• Deep folds between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds) also called smile lines
• The lines framing your mouth (marionette lines)
• Chin wrinkles
